Violet Phosphorus

Violet phosphorus is a semiconductor with a band gap of ~1.7 eV (compared to ~0.3 eV for black phosphorus). The layers are stacked together via van der Waals interactions and can be exfoliated into thin 2D layers down to single layer phosphorus (phosphorene). Please note, this material can only be produced on a small scale. To buy Violet Phosphorus crystals please click here.
